Last updated: November 1, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Forge (the "App"), a desktop application operated by PJ Ventures, collects, uses, and discloses strictly anonymous usage information when you use our Service.
1. Commitment to Anonymous Data Collection
Because the Forge desktop application does not require user accounts, logins, or personal credentials, we do not collect any direct Personal Data (such as your name, email, or contact information). We are committed to collecting only anonymized, aggregated data necessary for product improvement and stability.
A. Anonymous Usage Data
We use the third-party analytics service PostHog to collect strictly anonymous data necessary for understanding app usage, performance, and stability. This data is associated with a random, non-traceable identifier (UUID).
The categories of data we collect include:

- Feature Usage Patterns: Information on which features are accessed within the app.
- Performance Metrics: Data related to app stability and speed.
- Basic Error Reports: Information about error types and frequencies, never including sensitive data.
B. What We Do NOT Collect
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
- IP addresses, geolocation data, or device fingerprinting data
- User-generated content, including notes or Bible text
- File paths, folder names, or file system data
- Session recordings, heatmaps, or screenshots
2. How We Use Your Data
PJ Ventures uses the collected Anonymous Usage Data for:
- Maintaining and improving technical performance and stability
- Understanding usage patterns to guide feature development
- Detecting, preventing, and troubleshooting errors
- Analyzing overall health and functionality of the App
3. Your Choices and Control
We provide full transparency and control over the anonymous data we collect, accessible via the application's Settings menu:
- Opt-Out Anytime: Disable all analytics via a toggle in Settings.
- Regenerate Anonymous ID: Reset your UUID to orphan any previously associated data.
- Clear Data: Remove any analytics data associated with your current anonymous ID.
4. Disclosure of Data
- Service Providers (PostHog): We use PostHog for analytics. They are contractually obligated not to use the data for any other purpose.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law or valid legal requests.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
5. Security
The security of your data is important to us. While we use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
